Our Mission : Food, Education, Medicine
Advent invites us to slow down and rediscover where our true strength comes from. Isaiah reminds us that God is both infinitely great and intimately close. When we look at the night sky with its countless stars and unimaginable beauty, we realize how small we are. Yet the God who created every star knows us personally and calls each of us by name. This is the heart of today’s readings: God is mighty enough to sustain the universe, yet gentle enough to carry our burdens.
Israel, tired and discouraged in exile, wondered if God had forgotten them. We often feel the same. When life becomes heavy, when prayers seem unanswered, or when the world feels chaotic, we begin to ask, “Where is God? Does He still care?” Isaiah answers with tenderness: God does not grow weary. God does not abandon us. He pours strength into those who wait for Him, hope in Him, and simply turn their faces toward Him. Those who trust in the Lord “renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.”
Jesus completes this promise in the Gospel: “Come to me… for my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” This does not mean that life becomes effortless. It means that God carries the weight with us. He does not remove the challenges; He transforms them. When we surrender our exhaustion, fear, and doubt, He places on our shoulders a yoke of peace, gentleness, and rest.
In this second week of Advent, let us open our hearts to the God who is both beyond the stars and closer than our breath. Let us ask Him for renewed strength, strength for the tired, hope for the discouraged, courage for the weak, and light for those who feel lost. May He teach us not only to endure but to truly live, to rise again each morning with trust that He walks with us, lifts us, and makes our burdens light.
The violent are taking it by force.
